The Project

Netroots Nation has requested my services as Lead Photographer from August 15 - 20, 2022 for the annual Netroots Nation Conference in Pittsburgh, PA. Images will include a mix of posed headshots, portraits & candid photos of event attendees, loose shadowing of of principle subjects to capture key moments, a wide variation of images of the venue details & attendees in numerous settings, and any other foreseeable assets necessary to cover the needs of Netroots, and when possible, video footage of the event. In the days prior to the events beginning (Aug. 18) I will task myself with capturing background “b-roll” and covering any other media hits or clutches that your team feels important to document. Additionally, I will provide guidance and direction for any additional photographers and press as needed. Equipment to be used will include one Canon 5DMk4, one Canon EOSR, a range of photo lenses to cover the full spectrum of needs, four small LED lights, and one flash(rarely used).

The Details

Netroots will receive same-day assets for quick media hits via Dropbox during the event, and will receive an additional URL with a full album of processed ready-to-print images within one week of event ending. Images uploaded will have a natural-yet-stylistic correction added prior to delivery suitable for mixed media use, and the dropbox URL will be available for 60 days from point of shooting, and archived offline after. I will also be available to provide advance support when needed (making runs, able to lift heavy objects, helping with logistics).

Bryan Giardinelli gives Netroots Nation an unlimited license to use the deliverables for 5 years. This includes social, e-mail and print advertising, and digital. This is a full purchase of images for 5 years, and should Forward Media or associated parties wish to expand or extend license at any time, the cost can be renegotiated when that time comes. Bryan Giardinelli will give full release and reproductive and derivative rights to Netroots Nation, and Bryan Giardinelli has the right to use the deliverables and finished tear sheets for portfolio and promotional use. Bryan asks that Netroots Nation strive to provide byline and/or credit when possible.

Continuous full-day coverage for each day of the event, on-call coverage on days prior to event, with on-the-fly processing and delivery, and a full archive of press-ready assets within one week of wrap.

• Baggage Fee

• TRANSPORTATION (Lyft/Uber to & from home/airport, TRANSIT IN PITTSBURGh)

  • $235 (Based on current prices for round trip from Murrieta, CA to Ontario, CA, and back.)

• Per-Diem

  • $125 ($25*5/days. Covers personal food, misc. expenses for trip duration)

• Rental Car Fee

  • $125 ($25*5/days. Covers 50% cost of rental car for duration)

• Lodging

  • Covered by Netroots Nation
